Field Work
The classes go down to the river during their respective Science periods. When at the river, t
he class is divided into 5 groups. There are several tasks the students have to carry out :

  • The fish and crab traps are baited and then lowered into the river.
  • Each group sends out a representative to collect water from the river. They have to cast their buckets as far away as possible from the river bank so that they do not collect the dirty water or leaves by the side of the bank.  They then conduct the water testing.
  • They will proceed to the middle of the bridge to measure the depth of the water at that particular time
  • The final task would be to collect information about the organisms and the river environment.
